February 2016 Birchbox Unboxing

The theme of February’s Birchbox is Date Night.  Regardless of your plans, this box will make you feel pampered and beautiful.

Hands down, my favorite product in this month’s box is the Whish Renewing Mud Mask.  This is not your mother’s mud mask.  Unlike the traditional mud mask, this exfoliating mask goes on thin and is ready to wash off in only two minutes.  This mask left my skin feeling tighter and invigorated.  I’m a fan!

I am a big fan of amika products, so it should come as no surprise that I liked this amika Bombshell Blowout Spray, which both conditions and volumizes for a great blowout.

The last three samples are definitely of the “finishing touch” sort, and the perfect way to top off your night-on-the-town prep.

I have never been very good with highlighters, but the Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator is the perfect consistency and sheer shimmer to add subtle highlights to brow bones, cheek bones, upper lip and nose.  The full-sized version comes with a built-in brush that probably allows for even better application control.

This Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Liquid Lipstick came in Strumpet.  It has good pigment and buildable coverage.  Add more to achieve a glossy effect.  I applied before eating and am happy to report that this liquid lipstick withstood a few slices of pizza!

The final touch – perfume.  This Catherine Malandrino Romance de Provence Eau de Parfum is intoxicating.  It has a floral, amber-warm scent, and makes a good transitional fragrance for spring or fall.  I’ve been wearing this one nonstop since receiving my box.

Have you tried these products?  What do you think?

Cheers!
