It’s summertime, and the living’s easy (hopefully!). Summer is a great time to have some fun and experiment with color. When I was traveling in Portland last May, I was on a major lilac eyeshadow kick and I was determined to find the best light purple or lilac shadows that had just a hint of shimmer. This is what I found . . .
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Asphyxia is described as a “hyacinth shimmer with blue shift.” The formula has a creamy texture and light shimmer without being sparkly. It goes on smoothly and can be applied with your fingertips. The pigment is solid and leaves an iridescent sheen that looks really beautiful on. Even better, this formula is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates!
For a more subtle shade with a bit more sparkle, I like NARS eyeshadow in Lunar. Described as a “Soft Iridescent Violet,” it looks more like a lilac hue to me. This formula is a little less iridescent than the Urban Decay eyeshadow, but contains more of a glitter effect. A fun shade that you can still wear to the office! This one is also free of parabens and sulfates.
