Very Sweet!

So . . .  I won’t get into the various reasons that I am loooong overdue to post on this blog, but I can assure you its because of a series of good life developments and I hope you’ll forgive me!

Today, I’m excited to share Birchbox’s new Limited Edition box — Sweet Beauty Treats.  Whether you’re looking for a Galentine for your best gal, or a fun way to treat yo’self, this box has you covered!

This box pulls its weight — everything transitions easily into my usual makeup routine, along with some delicious gummies to sweeten getting ready.

If you read this blog, then you already know I’m a major fan of Laura Geller New York make-up.  The Laura Geller New York Iconic New York Collection Downtown Cool Eye Shadow trio doesn’t disappoint!  The trio includes creamgilded bronze, and goddess.  Cream and gilded bronze are just as their names suggest, except that cream is matte and gilded bronze has a shimmer to it.  Goddess is a shimmery, rich chocolate color.  I like to use cream all over my lid and brow bone, gilded bronze over my lid and lash line, and goddess in the crease (sparingly for daytime and more at night!).  The pigment of these shadows is great and the color lasts all day!

I was not very familiar with Wander Beauty and I was pleasantly surprised by the Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara.  Application is a snap with its uniquely-shaped applicator, which makes it super easy to get equal coverage even for those hard to reach inner and outer lashes.  Even though its a volumizing mascara, the applicator prevents lashes from clumping, resulting in a more natural look.  I also like that this product comes in a tube — so much easier to access as much product as possible when you’re close to running out!

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzing Powder is about as well known as the cosmetic company itself, and for good reason!  The matte bronzing powder is universally flattering and, whether you’re using to contour or for a sun-kissed look, a little bit of product goes a long way.  This limited edition box came with a mini-sized version, which I like because I find the brush even easier to control than the standard-sized brush (read: I could use this in early February without overapplying and looking fake!).

I have been wanting to try Lipstick Queen products for the longest time, so I was super excited to get Lipstick Queen Medieval Tinted Lipstick Treatment in this limited edition box!  At first, I wasn’t sure that the color would be right for my skin tone, but one swipe of this tinted lipstick treatment gave me a lightly berry-stained pucker, which is great for daytime.  The color is also buildable if you prefer a deeper hue.  The product feels nice and light on my sensitive lips!

I love the AERIN Rose Hand & Body Cream!  It’s super moisturizing without being too thick or greasy, making it a great go-to hand cream.  It smells like a bouquet of fresh roses without smelling perfumey.  LOVE!

I was also delightfully surprised by the Pink Sugar Eau de Toilette Rollerball.  It smells sugary with vanilla undertones, without smelling too sweet or juvenile.  The scent isn’t overly heavy, and it has pretty good stay-power.

Truth be told, one reason this limited edition box caught my eye was because of the two sugarfina candy cubes!  I’m always tempted when I see these pretty little cubes of gummies in some boutique, but I can never justify buying them for myself!

The sugarfina “Kiss Me” Sugar Lips are so yummy and didn’t last me very long!  I simply couldn’t resist these sweet and sour gummies, especially the watermelon-flavored ones!

A bit more nuanced in flavor, the sugarfina Royal Roses were also yummy!  These little gummies were a great way to treat myself.
